Grievances – Timelines to Remember

 

If you have and issue:

  • first take it to your Manager – within 9 days of the issue arising
  • the manager has 9 days to respond to you whether they will fix
  • failing resolution, you have 9 days to file a formal grievance (Step 1)
  • the manager is given the grievance and has 9 days to respond in writing
  • failing resolution, you have 9 days to proceed to Step 2 by sending it to HR
  • the grievance is then scheduled to be heard at the next monthly meeting
  • after the grievance is heard the hospital has 9 days to respond in writing
  • failing resolution, the union has 18 days to forward to arbitration
