Grievances – Timelines to Remember
If you have and issue:
- first take it to your Manager – within 9 days of the issue arising
- the manager has 9 days to respond to you whether they will fix
- failing resolution, you have 9 days to file a formal grievance (Step 1)
- the manager is given the grievance and has 9 days to respond in writing
- failing resolution, you have 9 days to proceed to Step 2 by sending it to HR
- the grievance is then scheduled to be heard at the next monthly meeting
- after the grievance is heard the hospital has 9 days to respond in writing
- failing resolution, the union has 18 days to forward to arbitration
